Special Features:
The building includes spaces for computer-based motion flight simulators, extensive computer support equipment, administrative offices, classrooms, support spaces, and a helicopter hangar bay. Although the building has a high level of security, extensive use of daylighting, through roof-mounted light monitors, allows for natural lighting. Training areas include a cockpit simulator bay with an IBM fixed-base simulator on computer access flooring, adjacent main-frame computers, as well as halon and pre-action fire protection systems. Also incorporated are acoustic attenuation measures to alleviate airfield noise, as well as EMI shielding to eliminate electromagnetic interference from nearby radar sources.
